Module Two: Reference documents on professional ethics

Infringements of press freedom should be investigated with regard for certain
ethical standards. Many charters have been drawn up by journalist’s organization.

This module give extracts from the declaration of rights and obligation of
journalists (known as the Munich charter, which is accepted as authoritative) as
well as the rules and practices in force in the regional daily
press in France, which provides an example of how the charter is put into practice.
